Our solid wood furniture is individually crafted using time-honored methods yielding uncompromising quality. Our richly detailed ITEMS harmoniously blend the use of solid woods with exotic and extraordinary veneers, accented with gold leaf, decorative molding, impeccable hand carvings, intricate hand-laid marquetry, elegant marble, wrought iron accents and artful leathers that easily translate into today's lifestyle and that will endure for generations. Pieces are fitted and screwed together and drawers are crafted out of solid mahogany or alder wood utilizing English dovetailing, front and back. Drawer bottoms are finished with proper veneers.

WOODS

The first step in ensuring that our pieces are of enduring quality is the careful selection of choice woods and veneers such as African Zebrano and exotic Bubinga, rich Swirl mahogany, Satinwood, Birch, well-defined Cathedral and Straight Grain Cherry, Lokinai, Mahogany, Lauan and highly figured Ash burl amongst others.

Select wood veneers are also carefully chosen to allow consistent finishing. Veneers enable more decorative looks that cannot be achieved through solid wood. However, use of veneers is generally limited to flat surfaces such as tabletops and case sides. In addition to their decorative ability, veneers add dimension and strength to a piece.

All solid woods and veneers are kiln dried to ensure moisture content of 6%-8%. This means dry weather or very low humidity does not adversely affect wood structures.

FINISHES

Proper finishes are applied in a multi-step sanding, hand rubbing and finish coat process that ensures the gradual build-up of a base and eventual finish that bring out the best qualities and natural beauty of each type of veneer and wood. The resulting rich luster enhances the natural beauty of our exquisite pieces for generations to come.

HARDWARE

Hand cast wax molds are used to carry out the design of each piece of hardware and to ensure that each piece conforms to its own design specifications. Each piece is solid brass and is fitted to each particular piece of furniture.
